My first grade daughter and I just finished reading the Little House on the Prairie series together. It was a nice way to spend some quality mother-daughter time. Now I'm looking for new books for us to share. Any suggestions for a book series to read with a school ager?

Here are a few classics that I loved as a child that I recently read with my son: Stuart Little, Charlotte's Web, and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
We have also enjoyed a few books from the Magic Tree House Series.

I second Charlie & the Chocolate Factory as well as several other Roald Dahl books...
- James & the Giant Peach
- Danny, the Champion of the World
- The BFG
- Matilda
There's also a great site that lists all of Dahl's books and has fun activities for kids: http://www.roalddahl.com/
