I'm so excited that fall starts tomorrow! I'm from New England so of course It's my favorite season! Besides going apple picking & decorating pumpkins ... what are some other things your family enjoys doing in autumn?

If you live near a park or a family-friendly hiking area, it's a great time of year to go for long walks. My son really enjoys doing scavenger hunts in the fall. I'll make a list of treasures we need to find (i.e.. red leaf, black rock, tree bark, etc) and he'll look for them while we walk. It's a good way to get exercise, but still fun for a young child because it's like a game.

I also live in New England and love the fall season. It can be a lot of fun going on a nature walk/scavenger hunt. Here is a link to a nature scavenger hunt http://prekinders.com/pdf/NatureWalk.pdf
How old are your kid(s)? It can be fun to collect some different nature items and make a nature collage or wreath.

That's awesome - what a great idea! My daughter will love this. She'll be 4 in November.

We do a lot of fall-themed baking in our house. Pumpkin bread, apple spice muffins...it's a great time of year for seasonal food and the kids like being involved in the process. There are so many great autumn recipe ideas on pinterest, too!

We live on a small dead end street with 9 houses. Every year we do a neighborhood pumpkin carve. We pull tables onto the road and bring all of our supplies to share (paint for the little kids, carving kits and of course snacks). We reserve one of the garages in case of rain. I love fall and I love my little neighborhood, so this is one of my favoriten family activities.

I love that idea! I wish my neighborhood did something like that. How fun.
